How Photopilot works with SRS Retail

For many retailers, SRS manages the assortment, barcodes, and inventory by store. Photopilot reads the product and inventory files that SRS prepares for the webshop and uses them as the starting point for images and text. This gives every SRS product that needs to go online a complete product page, without you having to maintain lists.

The SRS files Photopilot imports

SRS provides two types of files: a product file with products, variants, barcodes, attributes, and media references, and an inventory file with quantities per barcode. They can be delivered as CSV or XML, either as a full file or a change file. Photopilot retrieves them from an SFTP folder or via a URL with login credentials. Nothing changes in SRS itself.

Product and inventory are separate, which is useful

Because product and inventory data come from separate files, Photopilot also processes them separately. An inventory change only shifts the priority and does not start new image or text work. A product change, such as a new color or an updated attribute, does. By default, Photopilot checks every two hours for new files and simply skips a run if there are no changes.

Match by barcode, color, and supplier number

Every SRS variant has a barcode, and that barcode is the bridge to supplier images from Fashion Cloud or Stockbase. Color and size from the product file determine which image set belongs to which variant. The supplier item number helps link studio photos and brand images without a barcode to the right item. Photopilot includes media references already in SRS as source images.

Convert SRS attributes into product content

In SRS, material and care instructions are often stored as product attributes. Photopilot reads those attributes, turns them into clean material information and care symbols, and uses them in product texts, SEO texts, and filters. If the attributes are empty, Photopilot can recognize material and care symbols from the care-label photo. During setup, we agree which SRS attributes you use for this.

Edit and publish image

Studio and supplier images get the same background, crop, and order according to your store rules, and where an image is missing, Photopilot creates AI model photos or ghost mannequin images. After review, or via autopilot, images and texts go to your online store, not back to SRS. Photopilot updates Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, and Shopware directly; other platforms receive a delivery via FTP/SFTP, the Webshop-Excel, or the API. This gives every variant its own images, alt texts, and order.

You have SRS place the product and inventory export in an SFTP folder or at a URL, and give Photopilot login access. After the first full import, the entire online store assortment is in Photopilot, with image and text status for each item. Every day, the team sees which in-stock items are still incomplete, sorted by inventory. No development work is needed in SRS.

Yes. Media references in the SRS product file are included as source images and processed just like supplier and studio images. Your rules determine which version goes online for each image slot.
